School Closure
Procedures to inform Parents and Carers
The decision to close the school will be taken by the Headteacher of School and, in his absence, by the Deputy Head of School. It is only in extreme circumstances that consideration will be given to school closure e.g. extreme weather conditions, bomb threats, failure of school utilities.
In considering whether to close the school the main factors will be:
- Safety and welfare of students and staff in school
- Safety and welfare of students and staff travelling to and from school
- Safeguarding of students at home alone
The decision to close the school will be made as early as possible to allow for families and staff to make necessary arrangements.
