Eskdale School Remembers
This morning, at 11am on 11th November 2022, staff and students from Eskdale School met in the playground to remember those who have served and those who continue to serve in the Armed Forces.
Mr Nicholson spoke in memory of those who have fought for our country, and read the fourth stanza of the poem 'For the Fallen' by Laurence Binyon:
'They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them'
After the last post was played, two minutes' silence was observed, reflecting on the sacrifices of those who have fought for our freedom and for some the more personal sacrifices of those close to them.
