The P.E. Department
The department supports the ethos of the whole school community; to provide opportunities for all students. The departmental staff is highly committed towards personal development and well being of all students, through a wide range of sporting activities. In recognition of the school’s outstanding commitment to promoting physical education and school sport it has been awarded the prestigious Sports Mark Gold Award 2001-2004, 2003-2006 and 2006-2008. Since September 2006 the department has become involved in the second phase of the Whitby and Ryedale School Sports Partnership.

The Next Generation
The department is now under the direction of two former Eskdale students Mrs A-M Scales and Mr A Raw. Both members of staff were highly influenced by Mrs Wendy Hurworth and Mr Bob MacDonald, the department’s first dynamic duo and feel very privileged to be stepping into their shoes! In recognition of Mr MacDonald's drive, enthusiasm and hardwork, as a retirement present staff generously donated a team kit with "Bob Macs All Stars" printed on the front.
