GEOGRAPHY

GEOGRAPHY-SUBJECT FOR THE 21ST CENTURY!

GEOGRAPHY AT ESKDALE

Geography provokes and answers questions about the natural and human worlds. It develops knowledge of places and environments throughout the world, an understanding of maps and a range of skills including problem solving and investigation. This helps prepare students for adult life and employment.

The 21st century world is ‘shrinking’ as communications and transport continues to improve. The balance of world economies is shifting will China be this century’s superpower? As students study Geography, they encounter different cultures and nations and those nations level of interdependence and how globalisation affects our lives.

It can inspire them to think about their own place in the world and their rights and responsibilities towards other people
